Beenleigh Streetscapes

OVERVIEW

The Streetscape works comprises retained existing street trees, new street tree planting, new concrete pavements, artwork
installation, feature lighting and new furniture, providing a muchneeded uplift and rejuvenation of the extended Town Centre
precinct.


Reinvigorate Activation Support the life of the Town Centre as
a place that is embraced by locals and is attractive to visitors by increasing and highlighting:


  • Footpath space and zones for outdoor dining,
  • Casual seating, rest & observation points,
  • Night lighting to street trees and pedestrian, nodes,>Feature activation zones,
  • Retail and market zones,
  • Creative opportunities.


    • PROJECT SCOPE
  • Demolition works of hardstand, walls, street furniture, signage and existing kerb and channel and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Construction of new pavement works on both the footpaths and carriageways.
  • Feature street paint works to City Road, Main Street and scramble crossing at George Street.
  • Resurfacing line marking and road/parking signage to roads.
  • Installation of soft landscaping, inclusive of ground preparation, drainage, topsoil, mulch trees, shrubs and ground covers.
  • Construction of catenary structure with shade discs.
  • Construction of the stormwater services.
  • Watermain Diversion works.


    • KEY CHALLENGES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Managing works around and interfacing with many known and unidentified existing services.
  • Management of design modifications, approvals with engineers and asset owners in relation to unexpected service clashes.
  • Stakeholder liaison for high impact works in a busy commercial precinct including maintaining business access, traffic flow and alternative pedestrian around the work site.
  • HSRS Consutlation and development of traffic control plans.
  • Limited construction room and worker safety and separation within with high traffic volume areas.
